May 14, 2009

New Road School of Ocean County is proud to announce two winners in the recent ASAH Poster Contest held during Special Education Week, May 10-16th 2009. The winners were first place, Evan LaBoy, who won $100.00 and third place, Kevin Leuffgen who won $50.00.

This year’s theme for the poster contest was “Opening the Door to Success”. Students were asked to submit artwork that “captures the spirit of special education” as they experienced it. Evan LaBoy, when asked what motivated him to create his poster stated, “I was happy with my education. The world is out there, so take advantage of all the opportunities”. Kevin Leuffgen said, “There is a lot behind a closed door. You should always be willing to open it and learn something new”.
