Welcome Mr. Schneider
January 25, 2012
New Road School is happy to welcome Mr. Schneider to our community. He joins us this year as the Structured Learning Experience (SLE) Transitional Coordinator. We were eager to get to know him better.
Mr. Schneider had worked as a special education teacher for 28 years before the Sayerville public school system Superintendent asked him to create a SLE program for their district. He ran this new program for six years before retiring in June when he received a great offer to come to New Road School. His main responsibilities include finding new job sites and overseeing job coaches and students while at work. He is proud to add the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Davidson Avenue in Somerset as our newest job site.
Mr. Schneider told us that he likes the friendly staff at New Road School and our dedicated students. He is especially impressed with the Administration and their commitment to the SLE program. When asked about his vision for the future of SLE, he responded, “I hope to continue placing graduating students in their hometowns if feasible.” We wish him all the best.
