Technology
New Road invests in state-of-the-art technology for every classroom and every child. We believe that familiarity with computers and technology is essential preparation for every student's future — wherever it may lead.
Most classrooms are equipped with one computer for every student.
To reinforce and review academic skills taught in the classroom we utilize a proprietary educational software program. Its content-rich, multi-modal format offers students the opportunity to work independently to develop math, reading, and language skills at their own pace. The flexible program allows teachers to focus on skills that are currently being taught, as well as on those that are in need of review. The system tracks each individual student's instructional program and provides periodic progress reports that detail time on task, grade-level functioning, number of exercises attempted, number and percent of correct responses, and cumulative grade-level improvements.
Assistive Technology
Many students with disabilities require assistive technology to help them with the skills required to complete school work. This can consist of computer modifications, reading boards, communication devices and specialized software. New Road Schools offer students a variety of options in this arena and always make sure that students have the equipment necessary to help them learn.
