The New Road School of Somerset is a New Jersey Approved Private School for Students with Disabilities ages 12 to 21 who have learning, language and social challenges.
New Road School Somerset currently serves approximately 135 students. Our state of the art Somerset program is housed in a 54,000-square-foot building tailored to the meet the specific needs of our students.
Using the New Road Schools' unique academic instructional and educational model, we provide our students with the tools and skills they need to succeed in the classroom, at home, and in the community.
Like all New Road Schools, we evaluate each student where they are, with an understanding of his or her capabilities and performance levels. Our program allows our students to progress at their own rate, building confidence and competence along the way. While we provide each student with caring support and empathy throughout the learning process, we balance that with high expectations and accountability to ensure steady growth.
Small class sizes, one-on-one instruction, a structured positive behavior support program, and a sophisticated career preparation program that relies on interactive, hands-on learning, help our students develop self-esteem and self-motivation in preparation for adult life.
Career Education is a critical component of every student's curriculum. Learn more about Career Education and Transition at New Road School of Somerset.
